Medical School Entrance Interview (MSEI) Workshop

The MSEI workshop is a two day workshop focusing on increasing a positive performance during the medical school interview, specifically the multi-mini interview (MMI). ISHS in collaboration with the undergraduate medical program delivers the IPAC workshop on a yearly basis in February.

Native American and Indigenous Studies Association (NAISA)

NAISA is the premiere international and interdisciplinary professional organization for scholars, graduate students, independent researchers, and community members interested in all aspects of Indigenous Studies. NAISA hosts an annual meeting that welcomes faculty and students in colleges, universities, and tribal colleges; community-based scholars, artists and elders; and independent professionals working in the field.

Pacific Region Indigenous Doctors Congress (PRIDoC)

The Pacific Region Indigenous Doctors Congress (PRIDoC), which was started in 2002 to provide a vehicle for Indigenous physicians and medical students to network, discuss issues of mutual interest, share scientific advances and best practices as well as ancient wisdom and traditional knowledge to further the health and well-being of our communities. In addition, support and mentorship of our medical students has always been an important PRIDoC function.

University of Toronto - Indigenous Health Confernece

This interdisciplinary conference brings together Indigenous peoples, health care providers, researchers and experts in the field who are working to address the huge health disparities between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples. This disparity has its roots in colonization. As revealed by the Truth and Reconciliation and Murdered and Missing women’s reports much of the history of Indigenous peoples in Canada was minimized or erased. This negatively impacted the health and lives of many Indigenous peoples as traditions were stripped away and families torn apart. Addressing this huge health disparity, requires Indigenous peoples, experts in the field and healthcare providers to examine the evidence and create dialogue to improve the understanding of healthcare needs.
